INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana –  Franciscan Health Indianapolis has been recertified by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR).

The hospital is acknowledged for its commitment to enhancing standards of care in the industry. AACVPR-certified programs are recognized as leaders in the field of cardiovascular and pulmonary rehabilitation because they offer the most advanced practices available.

The Indianapolis hospital has consistently earned three-year certifications since 2005.

Cardiac rehabilitation is a clinically supervised program that includes exercise training, education on heart healthy living and counseling for patients with heart problems.

One of the key cardiac rehabilitation programs at Franciscan Health is Supervised Exercise Therapy for Peripheral Artery Disease (SET-PAD). The disorder occurs when arteries in the leg become narrowed or clogged with plaque and can result in decreased blood flow, pain, discomfort and limited mobility.
