Sisters Meredith Ellis and Lebany Dalto share how Franciscan Health Family Birth Center Mooresville gave them not just beautiful birth experiences, but also comfort, compassion and care that continued even after leaving the hospital.

Lebany’s Birth Experience At Franciscan Health Mooresville

Lebany chose Franciscan Mooresville after it had been recommended by multiple people.

“I'm so glad I did choose to come here,” said Lebany. “When I had Bayler, I labored for almost 24 hours. I think I went through three different nurse shifts. All three nurses were amazing. They truly care so much about you, they did just anything that they could to help the situation.”

A detail that made Lebany’s delivery at Franciscan Mooresville especially meaningful was the convenience of staying in one room throughout her entire experience. From check-in, to welcoming both her daughter and niece, and finally heading home, everything happened in the same space. She appreciated not having to move around, get resettled, or adjust to a new room during such an important time.

The experience was also comfortable for her husband.

“He appreciated the new renovated rooms with the nice sleeping arrangements for them,” said Lebany. “There's not just a recliner; they have pull-out couches.”

The care doesn’t stop after birth. Lebany said it went beyond that.

“They made sure you put the baby in the car seat correctly. They answered the questions on how to install the car seat in case you had any of those questions,” said Lebany. “They get so in depth even about how many dirty diapers you should have in a day.”

Meredith’s Birth Experience At Franciscan Health Mooresville

“I chose Franciscan Health Mooresville to deliver my first child because I actually was able to be in the room with my sister when she delivered her first child,” said Meredith. “Just seeing how wonderful all the doctors and nurses were with her delivery made me realize that when I was ready to have kids, that this is where I was going to go.”

Lucy is Meredith’s first daughter and first child.

“My experience delivering Lucy was beautiful and wonderful,” Meredith said. “It wouldn't have been any of those things without delivering here at Franciscan Mooresville.”

Meredith’s daughter came early being born at 36 weeks and four days.

“It was pretty nerve- wracking for me and my husband as first-time parents. As soon as we got to the hospital, though, everybody here made our experience wonderful, and they calmed us,” she said. “They assured us that everything was going to be okay, and it was because of them and everything that they did.”

Meredith was also impressed by the environment at Franciscan Health Mooresville. She described the rooms as spacious, clean and newly renovated.

“It’s like you were at home, or even at a hotel, as much as you could be comfortable in a delivery room,” said Meredith.

She says even the time when she was preparing to leave the hospital was wonderful.

“Being first-time parents, obviously you have a lot of emotions and you're anxious and terrified because you're responsible for a tiny new human,” said Meredith. “Before leaving, the nurses and doctors here reassured us that we knew what we were doing, and we were going to be okay. They taught us so much.”

Meredith felt supported not only during delivery but even after leaving Franciscan Health Mooresville.

“After discharge, they call and check in on you, make sure that not only the baby is doing okay, but also you as the mother with postpartum,” she said. “They make sure that you don't have any other questions that maybe arose in the first week of being parents. They check on you, make sure you're mentally doing okay, and physically your recovery as well.”
