About This Treatment
Franciscan Health manages a residential behavioral treatment center for youths, ages 12 through 18, at the St. Francis Center on the campus of Franciscan Health Dyer. With a total of 30 beds, the St. Francis Center offers two levels of adolescent residential care in a nurturing, therapeutic and secure environment. The program is designed to assist adolescents in developing the necessary skills to function age-appropriately and successfully on a daily basis so they can reintegrate with the community and their families. All residents at the St. Francis Center are court-ordered for treatment.
When is residential treatment advised for teens?
While it is common for children and teenagers to act out sometimes, truly disruptive behaviors are extreme and cause the adolescents as well as their families a great deal of pain and suffering. When an adolescent’s behaviors become disruptive and potentially harmful, it is time to consider professional help.
Franciscan Health offers residential care for these youths that focuses on treatment and developing the ability to reintegrate with society. Because it is our belief that success is often dependent on family involvement, families are encouraged to take an active role in treatment by attending routinely scheduled family sessions.
The St. Francis Center also provides a self-contained accredited school and certified teachers. Learning is individualized and credits are earned toward graduation.
