Our Approach
Sometimes referred to as manic depression, bipolar disorder is a mental illness marked by high and low mood swings. While there is no apparent cause, genetics is a known contributing factor. Bipolar disorder presents symptoms that often deviate from a patient’s normal actions and can include manic and depressive episodes.
A manic episode can include:
- Impulsive behavior
- Restlessness
- Poor Judgement
- Lack of concentration
- Abnormally high self-esteem
A depressive episode can include:
- Indecision
- Feelings of hopelessness
- Fits of crying
- Suicidal thoughts
- Sleep changes
- Lack of interest in things that were once enjoyable
