What is Endoscopic Sleeve Gastroplasty (ESG)? 

Endoscopic Sleeve Gastroplasty is a minimally invasive weight loss procedure, which uses an endoscope tool and tiny stitches to shrink the size of the stomach. This results in decreased food intake and feeling full faster, thus promoting weight loss.

Is ESG an alternative to gastric bypass or traditional gastric sleeve surgery?

The ESG procedure is an alternative to gastric bypass and traditional surgery. It uses a flexible scope that enters through the mouth to reduce the size of one’s stomach.  

ESG can benefit patients similarly to bariatric surgery in that both procedures ultimately work to help you feel fuller faster and support long-term weight loss.
