Our Approach
Franciscan Health's substance use disorder treatment for adults provides the strong support system, compassionate care and comprehensive care needed by individuals who have become harmfully involved or dependent on alcohol or drugs.
Our addiction treatment and recovery programs include detoxification, counseling and support. We offer a variety of outpatient treatment options, as well as an intensive outpatient program (IOP) for more intense treatment.
Medical detoxification from drugs or alcohol
If acute care is needed, hospital inpatient detoxification services are offered at Franciscan Health Dyer.
Franciscan Health Dyer offer comprehensive, structured treatment for individuals who require medical detoxification and are suffering from an addictive illness. Treatment is provided by a multidisciplinary team of caring professionals led by a psychiatrist. Under the psychiatrist's direction, the team strives to observe, assess, stabilize and transition patients into a less restrictive level of care. Family members are encouraged to be active members in a person's continuing treatment as the program stresses the importance of support for ongoing long-term recovery.
Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT)
Medication Assisted Treatment is offered at some locations and offers FDA-approved medications to normalize brain chemistry, block effects of opioids and ease cravings and withdrawal symptoms. Medication Assisted Treatment is typically done in conjunction with counseling and behavioral therapies to provide a "whole-patient" approach, which has been shown to most successfully treat opioid addiction and sustain recovery.
