About kidney disease
Chronic kidney disease is a gradual loss of kidney function over time. According to the National Kidney Foundation, 26 million American adults have chronic kidney disease. High blood pressure (hypertension) causes 30% of all cases of end-stage kidney disease. Only diabetes leads to more cases of kidney failure.
