Our Approach
Franciscan Health’s interventional pain management program offers the most effective treatments to decrease or eliminate pain. Our goal is to increase comfort and facilitate each patient's return to a productive and optimal level of functioning, thereby increasing quality of life.
The foundation of our philosophy is reflected in the following additional team goals:
- Improve pain control through conservative methods
- Reduce psychological stress
- Improve mood, sleep dysfunction and coping skills
- Contain program costs
- Relieve drug dependency
- Use non-narcotic analgesics, if feasible
- Promote learning to function within pain limitations
- End the relentless search for a cure
To achieve these goals, we use an interdisciplinary approach and innovative technology. Emphasis is placed on each individual patient by designing detailed treatment plans, providing quality services, striving to improve the long-term outcomes for patients and achieving the satisfaction of each of our customers.
Pain management through nerve blocks
Nerve blocks vastly improve a patient’s surgical experience by helping to avoid pain during a procedure and significantly limiting pain following a procedure. Less pain means patients return home earlier, begin physical rehabilitation faster, and regain mobility and independence sooner.
