When care at home is no longer feasible, Franciscan Hospice House provides patients with specialized care and their families with respite care, all in a beautiful facility that provides all the comforts of home.

As the only comprehensive inpatient hospice facility on Indianapolis’s south side, Franciscan Hospice House combines superior end-of-life medical care within a comforting environment.

Franciscan Hospice House was envisioned as a complement to the exceptional home health, hospice and palliative care services that Franciscan Health and Franciscan VNS have provided to more than 4,000 families in southcentral Indiana for more than two decades.
Franciscan Hospice House offers:

• 16 private rooms for patients and families
• Large common area for families
• Well-equipped kitchen with dining room
• Chapel and prayer garden
• High-quality, holistic care for all patients - regardless of their financial situations - and support for their families

This includes physicians, skilled nurses, certified hospice aides, clergy, social workers, counselors and volunteers. The entire hospice staff is located at the Hospice House, where they take a team approach to providing families with physical, spiritual, social and emotional support.

All patients must be eligible for hospice and wish to receive the hospice benefit.
