About This Treatment
Franciscan Health is proud to offer the Ekso GT™ robotic exoskeleton which uses intuitive technology to assist with gait therapy. It’s customizable suit gauges how much power the user can contribute and adapts to continuously deliver the appropriate level of support to complete every step.
Wearable robots, or robotic exoskeletons, may enable those with certain types of spinal cord injury and stroke to stand up correctly and walk. These suits can help guide weight shifts, step patterns and cadence, so that a more natural ambulation pattern is achieved. As an added benefit, physical therapists can remain upright as well during sessions, resulting in an improved ability to engage with the patient.
Franciscan Health currently offers this leading technology in Indianapolis and Lafayette.
