Our Approach
At Franciscan Health, we recognize that children have specific needs and abilities at all stages of their early lives. Our Pediatric Rehabilitation Services team brings together multiple experts and thorough assessments to understand your child's unique needs. Then we work with your family to identify performance and functional goals and design a therapy program to maximize your child's progress.
Our therapy team
Our dedicated speech, occupational, developmental and physical therapists provide a wide range of rehabilitative and therapeutic services for children from birth to age 18. Contact your child's primary care provider if you think your child may be a candidate for one of our therapy programs.
Pediatric PT/OT Direct Access
No physician referral is needed for outpatient physical (PT) and occupational (OT) therapy.
The States of Indiana and Illinois have direct access to both physical and occupational therapy services. Direct access allows patients to seek and receive examination and treatment from a licensed physical or occupational therapist without a prescription or a referral from a physician.
Direct access to PT and OT services is widely accepted by most insurance plans. You are encouraged to contact your insurance provider to determine if you need a referral for therapy in terms of insurance coverage.
