Cancer Surgery

About This Treatment

At Franciscan Health our surgeons are clinical leaders in the treatment of cancer using minimally invasive techniques. From robotic-guided to endoscopic microsurgery, we are at the forefront of next-generation surgery. In some cases, cancer can be removed using one incision - or even no incision. We have a large team of surgeons dedicated to the treatment of a wide range of cancers.

Robotic-assisted minimally invasive cancer surgery

The da Vinci® robotic surgery system enables our surgeons to perform the most complex and delicate procedures through very small incisions with extraordinary precision. For patients, the benefits may include less pain, less scarring and a shorter recovery time. At Franciscan Health, we use robotics-guided cancer surgery to treat:

Cancer surgery can be used to treat a variety of cancers including, but not limited to:

  • Skin cancer
    • Videoscopic Inguinal Lymphadenectomy (VIL)
    • Moh’s surgery
  • Breast cancer
  • Gynecological cancers*
  • Thoracic surgery
  • Colon and rectal cancer*
    • Single Incision Laparoscopic Surgery (SILS)
    • Minimally invasive transanal surgery (TEM)
    • Transanal minimally invasive surgery (TAMIS)
  • Ortho-Oncology (orthopedic surgery for bone cancer)
  • Prostate cancer*
    • Prostatectomy
  • Plastic and reconstructive surgery
  • Lung cancer*

*Indicates possible da Vinci® minimally invasive surgical options.
